A rationed mind

A rationed mind
Divided by fear
Of what is distant
Based on what's near

A refracted view
Seen through the pane
That we all look through
But see not the same

A future that's true
But based on past lies
That we all fought for
With loss now realized

I search for my brother
Whose name is unknown
And stand by his mother
Whose grief is yet shown

How can you stand there
And not see what's true
Despite victory won
That I have lost you

We still hope for the day
When Love will prevail
But each day we fight
Is another we fail

Please come to the table
And join us in Love
This Love we both fought for
And prayed was enough

But a love can't sustain us
If its bound in by war
And carries our loathing
Towards those we'd adore

We are all in His image
In spite of our eyes' sight
As such we should Love all
As this only is right

I pray that you join me
And join me in prayer
And that our praying together
May not be so rare

So please stand by me
I ask my dear brother
For when we stand together
We'll be joined by Another

We imagined a world
Where nothing divided us
But ignored the One
That joins all inside us

So I stand by my brothers
And their right to be free
Not just in this world
But in Eternity
